Text Linguistics of “Textuality”: Making a Sequence of Sentences Communicative English Written Texts

Textuality makes a sequence of sentences communicative English written text. It, nonetheless, hardly becomes major theme foreign language learning in the Indonesian Writing Classes/context nowadays. This study, therefore, aimed at diagnosing “incorrect/missing uses seven elements textuality students’ cause and effect essay. Qualitatively, Politeknik Negeri Padang was locus study. The 2nd-year ED students (n=32) were research participants selected through convenience sampling techniques. documentation observation techniques data collection while 1967 Corder’s Clinical elicitation exercised as ways analysing data. findings disclosed that missed using nominal substitution lexical cohesion repetition synonym along with incorrectly used verbal clausal substitution, nominal, ellipsis, anaphoric cataphoric references, grammatical collocations. They, however, succeeded correctly three different types conjunctions coherence though they flopped to utilise acceptable phrases drawing conclusion. Hyponymy, metonymy antonymy ignored. In conclusion, deficiencies made sequences flawed characterless. encourages EFL teacher place emphasis on teaching Classes.
